You have to remove the rotor and depending on what car you have the wheel studs will be located on the rotor or the axle.They are easily tapped out and the new ones are put in and tightened once the wheel and lugs are re attached.
Check to see what your employment agreement is, if it states the employee provides their own equipment then it is up to you to buy the gloves. If it says all equipment will be provided by the employer then ask him to provide gloves. If he refuses go buy your own and present him with the receipt , if he refuses to pay then keep the receipt and use it on your taxes to be reimbursed for money you had to spend for your job. You could contact OSHA and see if he is breaking any regulations, it is hard to say if he is. Doesn't hurt to contact OSHA and ask.
