Question:

what is air suspension?

Is air suspension used for smother rides, or is it made for lowriders and cars with hydraulics? Can Air suspension be installed into any car?

Answer:

The unit will not start because the pressures on the high side and the low side have to be equal. Just wait for it, it will start when it is ready but not until.
check all fuses and circuit breakers to be sure they are good. Some A/C unites have a time delay that keeps the A/C from starting when the power goes off to keep the compressor from trying to start before the pressures equalize. Your time delay may be bad. If you have bad fuses this will also keep the time delay from reseting
You are right on both counts. They are expensive to purchase and install.
if lighting struck close by it is posiable that it also sent a jolt to the system and you will need a repairman to fix it.
air suspension can be a few different things. They are basically air bags that are controlled by a pressure regulator. Mainly put in the back of a vehicle, but in the case of a lowrider they're on all four corners(by each tire) in place of the factoy installed spring or coil suspension. Air bags can be set to different pressures to get the desired ride that you like. The really sophisticated sets require the installation of an on-board air compressor and a holding tank, and then they are all hooked up together into a system with control valves inside the vehicle. They can be used in any vehicle, and like I said earlier, they can be used for many purposes. Many people who haul heavy loads or pull heavy trailers with their pickups install air suspension as an additional suspension system to the factory. When loaded heavy, they simply air the bags up to level out the vehicle(so it doesn't sag to the back). Lowriders and off-roaders use them solely for the range of travel they can get out of an air bag system. They can travel farther than stock suspensions, and respond faster than stock, but not as fast as hydraulic.but they are much cheaper than a hydraulic system. Many luxury cars have been made with air suspension for years, such as the Lincoln Town car, or the bigger cadillacs, and even the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigators have air suspension systems factory installed.
