like during games they touch the floor and say "floor". and im new to the volleyball team so im just curious.
it just means to get low and ready for the serve or hit coming teams say that sometimes because it looks cool when they all hit the floor at the same time or to remind everyone to get down.
Keep your butt down and get ready with your hands low. If there's an ACE it's gonna be because someone wasn't low (ready to palm even the best serve off the floor).
Sorry, yet there is no longer such difficulty as elbow pads for volleyball. there's a technique to a pancake. you mustn't be hitting your elbows. ask your coach some diverse technique for you, in case you keep scraping them up. in case you ask your coach, you will have the skill to get a BRACE to your elbows at carrying good shops, which will guard them till you grasp the technique. take be conscious that this would avert your passing or putting, so be careful. ask your coach first. perhaps detect a diverse thank you to dive, quite of pancaking. try a barrel roll, or diving to the section. after awhile, your elbows will make stronger up and it won't injury anymore. its form of like digging a confusing spike, as quickly as you do it for a week or so, your hands are only approximately immuned to it, in case you get what im saying. i'm hoping this helped!
For body positioning on defense, a lot of coaches use the cue be low enough to touch the floor. One way they probably taught it was to say floor, and the players would put their hand down to make sure they can touch it. Now, the players probably do it themselves. So when they say floor, it just means to put your hand down quickly and make sure you can touch the floor. After you touch the floor, remember to bring your hand back up so both of your hands are high enough that you can see them out of the corner of your eye when digging. It'll help you react to the ball more quickly. Good luck! Hope you're enjoying the game!!
every team is different in how they get into ready position for a serve or hit...and basically their coach probably told them to do that because you have to get your butt down to touch the floor which puts you in a perfect position to pass and it is a good habit to get into!
