Salt and pepper both sides of the meat. Heat a stainless steel skillet til it's really really hot. Preheat the oven to 400. Put a little bit of olive oil in the pan, it will smoke and probably set off the smoke detectors, so run the fan. Sear the meat on each side for 4 minutes. Put the whole pan in the oven for 8 minutes. Put the steaks on plates and cover with foil. Deglaze the pan with a 1/2 cup of port. Reduce by half, swirl a pat of butter in, pour over steaks. You may have to adjust the above cooking times depending on your stove. This is actually better than grilling.
first off: what if they know it isn't going to hit the church? Second: what if the lightning rod is in the shape of a cross? does that count?
