just about any IC (interchangeable core) will work, just need to know if it is a medium or large format. most likely medium.
You can get batteries that last 10years, as long as the alarm doesn't go off for hours. Standard battery should last 2 years so annual replacement is a good recommendation, or better still, a mains alarm with battery back-up.
