Question:

What is the Best cold air intake for 2012 nissan altima 2.5s?

Looking for a cold air intake that adds the most horsepower. What is the best intake? (2012 Nissan Altima 2.5s)

Answer:

It is under the hood. Do you really think Nissan spent all that money to make an inferior intake while there are dozens of inferior intakes all over the aftermarket that say you will experience the joy of increased power, better fuel economy, and gorgeous women flocking to you? Even the makers of aftermarket intakes do not claim you will feel the difference in everyday driving - that would be a lie. Instead they claim that the engine's peak power will be increased slightly - not an amount you would ever notice but enough for them to measure and claim. They also do not mention the two main complaints their customers have - reduced fuel economy, especially in winter, and occasional destruction of the engine by water ingestion. A friend at work put a KN intake on his Scion. He never got the check engine light to stop coming on (that turbulence problem JetDoc mentions), but he kept the KN anyway. One day he drove through water that was deeper than it looked and it sucked up enough water to hydrolock the engine, bending a connecting rod. He sold the car as-is to a woman who had the motor replaced but kept the KN intake, then a year later she destroyed the new engine the same way.
I am not allowed to answer this as a 2.5 liter has no power to begin with, But I will regress look into KN KN 69-7061TS 69
The best cold air intake is the one that came with it from the factory. It takes in cold air, is tuned to your engine, and won't create turbulence in the MAF sensor. Rip it out and replace it with an aftermarket unit and your performance will decrease and your wallet will be lighter. Read this post on why cold air intakes on fuel injected vehicles are a joke.
