I know there are tons of kit for sale out there, but I really do not know which brand / product is the best one to have? I see a lot of Youtube video on how to survive economic crash and get prepared for it, etc. Everyone has a great knowledge and skills. But I do not really know what KIT to prepare for myself.. any advice ?
Some smoke detectors do that when you first put the batteries in or if you hit the 'silence/test' button. It continues for about five minutes then stops. Check the manual that came with it.
The smoke detectors need to be replaced. Read the information printed on the detector to find out how their life expectancy. It should tell you that, as well as the year it was made.
In the kitchen. Just as a note - fire extinguishers only work for about 6 years and then need to be recharged. It is a good idea every six months to turn your fire extinguisher upside down. Fire extinguishers are filled with powder and over time, the powder hardens and becomes like a rock. The fire extinguisher will not work if the powder hardens and unfortunately, people realize this far too late. When you flip it upside down, you should feel the powder shifting - if not, call a fire protection company and they will inspect it for you.
