Question:

What is the best product to protect hair from thermal straightening (flat iron)?

I use a CHI ceramic straightener everytime I wash, blow-dry my hair, which is about every 2-3 daysI know straightening is bad for your hair, since if gives you more split-ends and will fry your hairThat's why I want to know if there is a cream, gel, spray, or serum that can protect my hair from the sun (summer is coming up) and my straigtener.I have straight hair (without using straightener) with my hair sticking outwards due to my father's curly hair geneticsI have dark brown or black and fine hair.Best answer will need one or more products, your experience with it, the price (you can estimate about), and where you can buy it.Thanks.

Good choice for a straightener! I have a chi and love itI worry about protecting my hair as wellI use a product called Biosilk serum, I get it from my salonIt averages me about $10 dollars it is a cheaper version of the Chi's serum which is more like $15-20, depending on your locationBut one bottle can last you a long time because you don't use that much at a timeI am not sure what ur price range is but if your looking more like in walmart, I would go with Tresemme and go for something that works with heat, I have used Tresemme before, it works but I don't like it as much as my Biosilk.
