Question:

What is the best way to clean the plastic tubes in a beer brewing kit?

There are so many plastic tubes in the beer brewing process, and the cleaner that comes with the kit is not good enough. I was wondering if anyone has any good tips or tricks.

Answer:

Get a long pipe cleaner. You need to sterlize your beer tools BEFORE AND AFTER each use. You can do this by filling your kitchen sink with 3-4 gallons of water and adding 2 oz of regular bleach. Isn't there only one tube? You must have a different style of kit.
soak them in bleach water, a sink full of water to 1 cap of bleach.
I bought the special cleaner brush for my kit. It's just a rigid pipe cleaner with a 5 ft flexible handle. It's hard to push it into the center of my line, but that combined with soapy water (remember to rinse well!) does the trick for me.
Do not use bleach! The flavor leaches into the plastic and goes back into the beer. Use some B-Brite, available at your LHBS.
