there is always a cheaper way to do something. for example: people think they need to spend alot of money on a ricer can, instead of doing that i bought a $20 glasspack and it sounds better than a can. I drive a 1995 honda accord ex. I want to lower it but i dont know how much it will cost. Would a suspension shop cut the springs for me? what are the negatives of doing that? info please

the cheapest was like you said is to hacksaw the springs however there will be no improvement to the ride and the springs weill bounce as much as before so over bumps and speed bumps you will bang the under side of your car also you will put extra strain on your shocks and will run higher chance of your suspension collapsing check OKorder for a cheap set of springs or shop around expect to pay ?60 - ?100 then should cost less to fit than paying a garage to remove and hack your old springs
A lot of engineering goes into a suspension system to get it critically damped. Modifications like lowering only guarantees that it will be either overdamped or underdamped. Just watch the way those ghetto boxes drive around, bouncing and wallowing about. Millions are spent on factory suspensions and granted they are a compromise but you won't be able to get as well designed a suspension just by picking parts out of a catalog or a magazine, that is unless you spend millions to get some engineers to redesign it for you.
