Answer:

Yes cats really do eat mice. They actually EAT them. Mostly they only eat the middle bit, not the head or tail. And dogs really do pee on fire hydrants, but no more than they do on trees or anything else. I dunno about bears
dogs really do urinate on hydrants, i guess it's kind of like a message board. bears enjoy anything sweet particularly strawberries in fruit dip. they love donuts, marshmallows and cookies, so I'm sure they love honey as well. cats can live soley on mice. they enjoy eating them, but mine doesn't like eating one particular organ which i always find.
Dogs pee on things to mark their territory so if it's a fire hydrant tree or car wheel they don't care if it's in their territory they'll pee on it. M y cat eats mice when she can catch them, as for bears loving honey i don't know!!!
Since you say gravel and trails, take a look at some Maxxis Holy Rollers. They are actually very good on dirt unless it's muddy or the rocks have wet, thick moss.and they roll like a dream on pavement. Great compromise and much more durable than some of the micro- or low-knob trail tires (like the Larsen TT, etc.). You could also get a truly slick wide tire (there are several in the 2 rangeand believe it or not, true slicks ride very nicely on most trails as long as it's dry and the uphills aren't too loose), but I think you'll love the Holy Rollers. They come in 2.2 or 2.4.get the smaller one. I run them at 60psi for street and 30-35 on the trail. Good stuff.
I've seen dogs urinate on fire hydrants. I think it's because it's a noticeable place to leave a message for the other dogs in the area. Dogs normally prefer to pee on trees, but in city's, where trees are scarce, they treat the fire hydrant like an artificial tree stump. Cats eat mice, I've seen it, though they'll usually play with them for a bit (like hours) before they actually kill it, and one of my cats used to always bring his catches to my dad and then get upset when my dad took it away (they're disease ridden so not really good to eat).
