Question:

What is the difference between skateboard bearings?

There are some bearing that I was looking at and one says ABEC 5 and naother says ABEC 7, what is the difference and is there better ones and recomand which ones are better. Thank you.

Answer:

the difference is the speed
the difference is the amount of ball bearings that are inside of the bearing itself......... the best bearings you can get are the swiss bones
i would recomend, well it all depends on what you are doing with it speed skating like me or abec 5 for just regular speed skating.the diffrence is speed and durabilty.
definite you have positioned skateboard bearings on longboard vans. maximum longboard vans additionally use the comparable 8mm axles as skateboard vans. There are some precision vans that use 10mm axles, yet those are high priced $2 hundred+ vans and you shouldnt might desire to concern approximately those.
Actually, the ABEC rating is quite misleading. technically, if you get an ABEC 5, it won't be slower or faster than ABEC 7. You see, ABEC is a strength rating. as long as you don't get like cheap walgreens bearings or something, you'll be fine. but you'll never notice the difference between 5 or 7. I highly recommend REDS bearings. Not too expensive and very nice. the bearings that are like $25.00 and up are just a waste.
