What is the difference between wear-resistant material and refractory material?
Focus is different. Some materials are called wear-resistant and refractory material. For example, refractory castable with high strength and wear-resistance, impressionable plastic material or brick. They all begin with fire-resistance and wear-resistance.
There must be difference. The requirements of refractory material are that it can be called refractory material when temperatures it can withstand are over 1570 ℃. Refractory material must have high strength. The specific value of refractory material is not clear.
Focus is different. Wear-resistant material may or may not be refractory. Such as, aluminum oxide ceramics is both refractory and wear-resistant, and many organic wear-resisting materials are wear-resistant but not fire-resistant. First, refractory material should be refractory. It should be wear-resistant in special cases. High-temperature fluidized bed, trough, etc. need refractory material with high strength and good wear resistance.
One is to require wear-resistance. It can be both fire-resistant and wear-resistant, and they can enter different categories. Faced with different demands, it has a variety of features. But both can also be integrated. I think many materials have same division. One is fire-resistant. The two concepts are different division. They are not comparable.
However, the purity and the requirement are not the same. For example, brown emery is often used in abrasive paper, which doesn't matter. Refractory material uses brown corundum brick. The material used in texture and refractory material of abrasive is different. For example, it is to facilitate their forming and easy sintering. However, some other materials should be added when making brown corundum brick. In general, some top grade materials are used to make abrasive.
