Question:

What is the difference of suspension systems of cars matters with me as a buyer?

I want to buy a car, and car makers claims lots of things about their suspension systems of their cars which I don‘t know anything about it, or I can not know which is better. So how can I know which suspension system is better than the other? or it does not matter?

Answer:

It really doesn't matter unless you are going to haul trailers, materials, live where the roads are bumping They all have the best according to them
The suspension is one of the most important parts of the car. Some people like a very smooth suspension, like a Buick, or Lexus, these are great and help make roads feel like glass. But with every pro, there is a con: Buick, most Lexus cars, and many others with a floaty suspension suffer from less road feel, improper handling, and horrible collision avoidance. On the flip side, you have cars like the Mitsubishi Evo, Dodge Viper, and such which are great handling cars, can carve through a turn like it's on rails, great high speed stability, incredible accident avoidance, but lack the soft suspension needed for our nasty roads. You'll have to drive each car to determine if the chassis/suspension setup is right for you. I prefer the middle of the road, cars that handle great, but also ride well, so you'll catch me in a BMW or Audi, as far as i'm concerned, they have the best middle of the road chassis/suspension setup, on the sport side of it.
