Try making a tight layer of the foil and measuring the thickness with something other than a micrometerThen divide by the number of layersWould this be accurate enough for you?
I doubt that it's burlap, as burlap does not drape wellIt might be a cotton linen, but the only way to be sure is to go to a fabric store and look around until you find what you are looking forYou can still order online, but at least then you will know you are ordering what you want.
