Question:

What is wrong with my charger?

I have a hp laptop and recently my charger starts beeping and it won't charge. What is wrong with it?

Answer:

It could've just gotten fried from excess usage. Your power source could also be failing.
This could be either the port is bad on the computer or possibly the power cord could be bad. if the computer is under warranty contact HP and see if they will let you send it in and they will fix the port and replace the battery and power cable to ensure the problem is fixed.
first two thoughts, 1) it's worn out and needs replacing. 2) the power port to the laptop has a broken connection. if you can find a comparable power cord, try that one and see if it works. if so, it was your power cord. if the other cord has the same issue, the problem is probably with your port. i've experienced both problems. and word to the wise, if it's the power port find someone who can fix it quickly. if you wait too long you'll run the risk of it shorting out and taking the hard drive and other hardware with it.
