Would a magnetic material like steel paper clips do or should I use aluminum or does the magnetic property of the metal not matter

copper circuit board! etch the fractal antenna on a board. That is the easiest, best way. Use a fractal design program, screen the board, then etch. Good luck, I've never had good luck with fractals, they are not supposed to cancel the field, but always do.
