yes it does. you are going from an enclosed stock air box to an open air filter.

Depends on just how lame you want to be. Some folks think just a muffler tip makes their car cool. A muffler, such as a glasspack can make a big difference. Headers and better mufflers are even better. But the best sounds come from big engine displacement not the whine of a spun up 4 cylinder.
Exhaust system or more correctly NO exhaust system. Get under your car and unbolt the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold then crank it up. Don't forget to wear earplugs!
