Question:

What metallic, curved piece could a speed bump have broken from the bottom of my car?

I was driving my '94 Nissan Maxima through my friend's neighborhood, and, despite having slowed my approach to 5-10 mph, a speed bump knocked something loose from the bottom of my car. After pulling over to check it out, I found a metallic piece that looked like a covering of some sort hanging from its attached end. It fell completely free soon after, and I couldn't locate the piece. It was hanging from the center of the car, closer to the front than the back, and maybe slightly towards the driver's sidealthough this could have been skewed by the angle at which it was hanging. I have a busy week at work ahead, and if I can put off getting it fixed for a couple weeks, it would really make my life easier. So does anyone know what it might be, and if I'll be safe in putting it off for a little while?

Answer:

i use straigh Ajax liquid gel. It is a thick bleach. I squirt it all over the floor. Use a broom to rub it all over the floor. Leave it 10 mins and rince. Mould is ALWAYS gone. I swear by it

Yes the spider may have been the problem . The way a smoke detector works is it has a chamber inside this is the round thing you see. the top of the cylinder is a positive charge the bottom is negative and this completes a circuit , The way it works is if anything disrupts this circuit it sounds the alarm. So if the spider had crawled in there it would set it off. It works just like a sensor for a safety switch on a garage door. If something disrupts the beam the door stops or opens back up. Any insect or even dust can cause this if it can fit in the plastic screen that houses the cylinder Hope this helps
