Question:

What ounce gloves to spar at boxing gym?

I'm supposed to do some sparring at a gym next week? What ounce gloves do you normally spar with? If it matters, I'm at 140 lbs. or JWW but I could be sparring somebody much lighter or much bigger than me I don't really knowSo um ya, what ounce gloves should I use??? Thanks

Answer:

What this has to do with was two years or so ago OSHA came out against some oil based products that contain high amounts of certain chemicals in plastics and vinyl. There were a lot of baby bottles and water bottles recalled among other things and now products that might contain high levels of certain oil based products with high levels of those chemicals have to carry a warning. Your gloves probably are or have some vinyl parts to them and I suspect that is the reason. Some states have adopted stricter standards in regards to this and California is one of them.
OSHA requires that fire extinguishers are checked annually. If older then a couple years, it should probably be replaced. Also, check the gauge to see if any good. I replaced our old ones this summer. However, before getting rid of them I let the kids use them so they would actually know how works.
