I just donated on new years eve. My hair was past my butt. I was sick of sitting on it so it made that easier to part with. Plus once it was short, the conveience of not having to constantly brush it, of it not getting tangled, the easy shampoo/drying part! I loved it. I cut my hair shoulder length. Well it went maybe half inch past my shoulders. I had choppy layers, the shortest layer was about chin length so it wasn't too bad. I could still do pony tails, braids, and all of that. Just know that it's hair, and it will grow back. And if you're afraid it will look bad, don't go super short right away. The more length you leave, the more room you'll have to fix mistakes. Now mine, they said i could still have had it middle back, so if you're worried about how short it will have to be,you might be off. They only need 10 inches. Another thing that made it easy, was trying to realize what I was doing(donating) and how it is for a really good cause and I can grow it back and do it all over again if I wanted to. Plus when it's shorter, you can mess around with it more and do more stuff than you can when it's long :-D It'll be really strange at first, but you'll love it after a while. There was a time that anytime i drove by a hair salon, i'd get that feeling in my stomach that i get when I go to the dentist! But I'm so glad I did it. Plus it's free!(at least it should be.. if not they're taking advantage of you). Okay this is super long. If you need any thing else on this deal, I've been through it and you can just email me.
you can cut your short hair into a style that suits you such as layered hair, bangs, etc.
