An over center link us used on many landing gear. It is normally on a side or fore/aft brace that attaches to the gear and goes over center when the gear is extended into its fully down and locked position, so every time you extend the gear, the over center lock engages. It is not separately engageable.

The rolling stones first concert would be overrun with time traveling rock and roll fans, 1000's of time traveling historians would be at dallas on the day JFK was asassinated (sp?) and in the infinite amount of time in the future of the infinite number of time travelers coming back in time, someone would of broken down and gotten stuck.

Thor's lengthy response indicates a devoted interest in the subject yet he fails to add that wormholes have never been detected or proven to exist. It's very easy to throw a quantum theory out to the public because they cannot be proven. That's why there are so many of them. Obviously, the questioner is a young person and it would be irresponsible to lead him to believe that black holes are some kind of time portal. If a black hole is spherical then where is this other side that beams you to the past? It represents a lack of knowledge about the structure of a black hole. Thor speaks of going into and coming out of a black hole like it's some kind of tunnel. I don't think that the movie Superman was written by scientists. Let's not mislead and confuse a person by suggesting that time machines exist.
