Glam is softest. If you even consider it metal. I'd said darkest/heaviest would be doom.
Metal is a sub-genre of rock to begin with Power Metal Alternative Metal Industrial Metal Heavy Metal Speed Metal Thrash Metal Metalcore Deathcore Death Metal Black Metal (though a few Death bands do surpass Black bands such as Deicide)
