Cuz the Maya were so intelligent that they counted the days of the month. There was no internet or phones or TV or things like that. What would you do other than count the days of the month? They were therefore astronomers. They didn't have the technological marvels that we have today because it would have dumbed them down.

First thing to do is to get the notion of the world ending out of the picture. People have been running around the streets with these signs for ages now and look at their condition. Don't spend your money on silos and survival gear. You will be throwing it out the window.
