lol one of my dogs is obsessed with socks! goldens can be smart about breaking into cupboards, so you might want to consider baby-proofing or just be very dilligent about discouraging that behaviour. good luck :)
The chemicals MAY melt the foam almost immediately. Home building stores sell a 4'x8' foam sheathing with a plastic coating on one side. This might work. Test a small section first.
Is your dog Houdini? If your talking about dirty clothes, put them in a hamper in the closet and shut the door. Understanding that SOME dogs can open doors, put a little latch on it too. If they're clean clothes, either hang them up in that latched closet or put them in your dresser drawers. If *Houdini* can also open drawers, put the child safety latches on them. Socks and such items will not only get stuck in her throat, they will cause an intestinal blockage and/or bowel obstruction. The only way to SAVE a dogs life from either of these, is to have a very expensive surgery doneit IS VERY expensive! So, all and all, you haven't been putting the items away good enough. You HAVE been very lucky, so far, that she has puked them out. One of these days she won't, if this continues.
