I‘m converting my 10 speed to a fixed gear. It currently has 26x1 3/8 wheels. I want to put some 700c wheels and tires on but I don‘t know which size to get? 700x23c? 700x25c etc.
Intermediat cdes probably o2sensor your not in any danger ,if it comes on try and hook up a obd 2 computer.
have a reputable shop check for codes, both active and memory codes. Once you have established what codes are present, you can go from there anything else is just guessing
From 26x1-3/8 to a 700c won't work. You're looking at 2 of difference. My advice? Sell the bike look for a new fixed gear - or better yet, buy a real road bike with gears. Those older bikes with 26x1/3/8 tires really weren't road bikes - just a mass produced, low end bike made to look like a road bike. Real road bikes that old came with 27x1-1/4 tires. Sorry for the bad news. You asked - I answered.
700c wheels are larger in diameter than your 26 wheels by about 1 inch. If you are planning on using brakes, they may not line up with the brake pads. In fact the larger wheels may not even fit the frame. Most 700c road wheels will fit a variety of tire widths. A 700 x 25 tire is only 2 mm wider than a 700 x 23, they both fit the same wheel.
also you don;t seem to know the difference between tires and wheels wheels will not usually be '23c or 25c' typical road bike wheel will be listed and sized as '700c, 20mm' they are not called 23c 25c etc neither is a typical wheel 23mm or 25mm wide and 700c wheels are too big for a 26 frame what kind of 10 speed had 26 wheels? that doesn;t even make sense 27 maybe if it has 26 wheels, it is probably really built for 27 do they look unusually small? do the pedals have not a lot of clearance, do the brakes really hit the supposedly 26 wheels? none of this makes sense old 10 speeds never had 26 wheels unless it is some weird kid bike or as the other guy, a cheap fake road bike with off size wheels, not worth converting you can possibly go from 27 to 700c even that may not work or it may require other mods wle
