Hi, for my AS art I am planning to build a junk robotI first have to do some initial studies of different pieces of junk, and when I think about this my ideas are pretty thin on the groundSo far I have a shoe, and a pepsi can, and I want some ideas for other steriotypical junk items, that are both complex enough to draw to gain me a decent mark ( so don't suggest a scrumpled up piece of paper) that aren't based entirely upon packagingI plan to go to a scrapyard later this week but hoped I could get some good ideas before then so I have something to do in my art lessons.Sorry about my fussy criteria :/ anyway, the best ideas ( and if there are lots of great ideas the quantity will be taken into account) wins 10 pointsCheers
it does have a full octet, it gives up those 3 electrons to become stable, learn your chemistry, a metal and a nonmetal forms an ionic compound meaning 1 element gives up those electrons
th3 alu n d alu chloride has a fu11 oc737u n33d 2 + the 3 b0nds with th3 3l3ctr0nsduh.
If you are past or are in Period 3, the Octet rule no longer appliesFor example, XeFe4 has 8 bonds.
You don't really mention the size of the finished robot, but in general when building something like that you'd want to think about the shapes and sizes primarily, then figure out how to combine them together or joint them to make the figureSo for example once you decide on a size (or decide after finding some good parts and basing the final size on those), think about finding: .2 long things (usually same material/shape/color) for LEGS .2 long things (usually same material/shape/color) for ARMS .1 longish fatter thing for the TORSO .1 round or other shape for the HEAD .2 small same-things for EYES .1 small thing for MOUTH .1 small thing for NOSE .2 small semi-long same-things for FEET You might want those to be metal or just a metallic color (paint/etc), and perhaps some of them could be machine related or parts tooOr not, depending on what the assignment isYou could also add onlays of various kinds like: .metal things (nuts/wire/crumpled aluminum foil shapes, etc).or things painted to look like them .metal studs, brads, etc .plastic gems (eyes?) lored plastic-covered wire .glitter paint, or glitter hot glue sticks, etc(or just use string, cut pieces of plastic, or anything at all.then spray over everything-the whole robot-silver) When my son and I used to make small junk robots, we just looked around for almost anythingWhen they were put in the right place on the project (as arms, head, etc), they just looked like those parts.
