The valet switch is usually mounted under the dashboard. Get on the floor with a flashlight and look up at the underside of the dash to find it. You should take the car to an alarm shop and have them check it and maybe they can explain how to operate it. One thing that will cause the alarm to act this way is if the battery cables are loose.
