Question:

What tires are best for drifting?

What tires are the best to break loose for drifting? New to this and not sure what tires to look for.

Answer:

they have to!! SHELF LIFE would be short if it wasn't for the additives. bread would not last, etc. it's all about MONEY!! also, additives help to plump-up meat, etc so , when our children are 10 years old and look like they are 16, it is because of the additives in our food. they eat the additives. mentally, they are still 10, but physically, their growth spurt comes quicker!! sad reality!
I think the option for food companies to have additives should be there however it is up to the consumer to purchase foods without additives if that's what they want
Tires with minimal tread, but not bald.
Back when Show Room Stock started up, shaved tires were used. Which meant the tread was removed down to about 50% of new. But we wanted adhession and drifters do not. We did not have as wide of band of tire compound choices as can be found today. I wish I could claim to be current on this. If that was my desire- I would go to some drifting compititions and check out the tires other drivers are using and then make a choice. There are publications out there that address drifting and several sites that list results. Check out those publications (and web sites) and look at sponsor stickers on winning cars. If they are pro's then more then likely tire brands and type will be listed and results may show not only the make of the car but also include details like what tires were used.
Only enough to make them safe and keep from spoiling for a reasonable time. Sorry: age withheld so as not to incriminate me. Well OK, old enough to know better, I guess (over 40).
