I just purchased a mattress, queen size, and the box is 9.25 inches high. This is the highest bed I have ever had, but I think high beds look nice, so I wanted a change. What sort of bed set (if any) should I get to match my new mattress with such a height? Pictures are welcome :).
you can put any bed you want under your new mattress and what you choose is totally dependant on your taste and style as well as the size of your room. for example a sleigh bed needs agreat deal more space than a craftsman style or a four poster style. thats because the curve in the sleigh beds head and footboards add a great deal of length to the bed. if you like the brass beds or metal beds make sure they are strong - many of the cheaper models wobble. i would suggest a good wood bed -not a wood composite - real wood will last forever and can be refinished as time goes on. check out ikea they have a large selection of beds and their prices are very reasonable. if you want a bed that is unique to you and no one else has the same one - consider purchasing your bed from an unfinished furniture shop then finish/paint/stain the bed to your own taste! it could be fun and you'll have a bed totally suited to your personal taste! good luck with it all and enjoy your shopping!
