At the beginning when Hester Prynne was going through her punishment of having to stand in front of the people,with the scarlet letter on her bosom and the baby on her arms. When Dimmesdale goes out at night to stand in the scaffold where Hester had once stood there alone and then later Hester and Pearl pass by and all three of them stand holding hands. At the end when they're celebrating the elections and Dimmesdale finally decides to confess,and then dies.
