Question:

2004 toyota rav4 power lock problem?

My power locks won't work by remote or switches on the doors, but I can still lock all doors with the key which seems to use the power lock system If you know how to fix this or even just what part is malfunctioning any help would be greatly appreciated

Answer:

To turn off Chime enter the code and then 9. If you dont know the master or installer code, wait until they are gone. Unplug the main power (tranformer) and unplug the battery in the control panel. Reapply power and plug in the batter and within 30 sec of power up, hold down the * and the on the keypad at the same time. This will put you in installer mode and may send a signal to ADT. Be careful of that. Unplug the phone line if needed. After holding down * and on the keypad, you will see something like Installer 20 on the keypad. Now press then 2 0. This will chime back a 4 diggit code telling you the installer code. From there you can use that code to turn on/off the chime feature like 1234 then 9. The installer code can only disarm the system if it was used to ARM the system. Your other options are to give yourself a code by using the Master code if you know it. Or you can change the master code with the installer code. The best option however is to locate the window (or your choosen escape route) in programming and change it from perimeter or entry/exit to interior follower. Interior Follower makes the point act like a motion detector. You may notice that only your main doors chime when opened motions dont chime when activated because they are interior followers. They delay alarm as long as they see a entry/exit point open first. Otherwise, they instantly go into alarm.
Noe. You can get an addressable fire alarm control unit which can monitor a conventional unit or conventional initiating devices. Try fire alarm system manufacturers web sites
