Question:

What would make your windshield wipers automatically stop?

Along with that, the wiper fluid isn‘t working either (and I did check to be sure that there was some in there). What could have happened and how to fix it? Thanks!

Answer:

wow. Something similar happened to Me once on a Tiyota Corsica. Then I learned each car wiper system is quite unique. On My case, it was the arms pulley that wear off and jumped apart. I spent $100 just for replacement. You should add a comment on what type of car/suv You're driving! Good luck! Bear hugs! ;-)
Check you fuse panel. Your wipers and washer motor run on the same circuit. Pull the fuse and look to see if the metal inside is broken and replace it if it is with the SAME fuse. Do not try to put a larger amp. fuse on it. If there is a short and the fuse does not blow because it's too big, you could cause a more serious problem.
