Question:

Whats a good way to put a fire out if you dont have a fire extinguisher?

We‘ve had a couple small fires over the years, like the heater overheating (irony) and got them out without a fire extinguisher though I don‘t remember how we did now, and I‘m worried about what will happen if a big one breaks out for some reason. I‘m definitely buying a fire extinguisher the next chance I get but I want to know some ways to get out a fire if you don‘t have an extinguisher.

Answer:

well, I would say water, unless it's an electric fire, then water will only make it worse. If you toss a handful of baking soda on the fire, it stops the chemical reaction that produces a flame. it's just a nasty mess to clean up.
It depends where the fire is. If its in a pan on the oven then smother the fire with salt or sugar or pretty much anything granular. If its a bigger fire then smothering it with a blanket is often the best way. Fire blankets are a good idea. Only put water on a fire if the fire is not a flammable liquid fire (including fat/grease) and its not an electrical fire. Just buy a carbon dioxide or an AB:E powder extinguisher for your house and you'll be sweet.
1) i dont get why this is a poll or survey 2) something like a big blanket so there is no oxygen left :)
