Whats my rear axle type?

Answer:

the torque converter aint that hard but if you go about changing the timing belt you need to change the water pump if you dont you will be changing both of them within a couple of months hope it help i dont know about the rear end sorry
could a fuse on a 2004 ford escape cause the back windshield wipers not to work
sounds like the wiper linkage from motor to the wiper transmissions has come loose.
I think your Cherokee had the option of two wheel drive or four wheel drive. Yes, replacing your torque converter would be a real challenge if you have never done it before. It would be one giant pain in the ar**. You need special tools, and a list of all the latest update modifications. A timing belt can be tricky, but there are lots of do it yourself photo stories of how to do it yourself. Medium difficulty for a skilled person. Typical costs run between $100 - $200 depending where you go to have the work done. A dealer might charge double that amount. Get estimates before you sign up for such a job.
Although I dont know your axle type, the 2nd and 3rd questions i can answer. Their both a pain in the a** to change. The timing belt itself is fairly cheap but putting it on is the next challenge!
