I'm not familiar with Nikotin, but if you like Metllica and Iron Maiden, check out Iced Earth. Metallica and Maiden aren't exactly to my tastes anymore, but I'm fairly certain you'll enjoy Iced Earth.
Mercyful Fate, Iced Earth, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Tank, Satan etc.

there are many. here is a quick list that i have on the ipod. a good variety of heavy metal and a bunch of progressive rock too. angra (progressive) armored saint (heavy metal) black sabbath (classic rock) children of bodom (black metal) dragonforce (progressive) dream theater (progressive) dream evil (progressive) edguy (progressive) evergrey (progressive) fates warning (progressive) gamma ray (progressive) queensryche (heavy metal/progressive) iced earth (heavy metal/progressive) in flames (heavy/black metal) luna mortis (female vocals)(heavy metal) stratovarius (progressive) helloween (progressive) machine head (heavy metal) megadeth (heavy metal) nevermore (heavy metal) nightwish (female vocals)(progressive) onward (progressive) ozzy (classic metal) pantera (heavy metal) sentenced (heavy metal/progressive) slayer (heavy metal) sonata arctica (progressive) stratovarius (progressive) symphony x (progressive) trans siberian orchestra (progressive/symphonic) although many bands claim the mighty met and maiden as influences. here is a bit of clarification. we all know heavy metal. black metal is a more extreme version of heavy metal. usually coarser sounding vocals. progressive metal is a different animal. the songs are usually longer. sometimes based around a concept. even whole albums based off one idea(i.e dream theater's metropolis pt. 2 or iced earth's the glorious burden) usually extremely proficient musicians. tenor vocalists are the norm. many times they have a lot of orchestration on keyboards. it is not for the faint of heart or mind. you should have a liking of classical music since there is a lot of references to it in there. but if you give some other stuff a chance you will see it is so much better than the crap that most american music is. most of the good metal is coming from europe.
