Question:

Whats the maximum miles you should drive on a new motorcycle tire before replacing?

For safety reasons. Lets say that I want to replace my motorcycle tires before they develope a problem such as a bulge. Whats the recommended maximum run life of a motorcyle tire?

Answer:

I run mine 'til they're bald, about 12K miles. But - different kinds of tires will have different life expectancies. Your high performance racing tires won't last as long as ordinary street tires. It's a trade-off; you get better high speed traction with the racing tires.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS TELLING YOU THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE EMISSIONS. EVEN IF THE LIGHT IS A FALSE INDICATION, IT'S BEST TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, OTHERWISE IT WON'T PASS INSPECTION.
I have an older British bike and I replace my rear tire at approx. 5000 miles. Sooner if it is showing excessive wear. Front tires last about 7000-8000 miles unless they are damaged. I do not know about the sport bike crowd but I see a lot of them that are taking their tires way too far.
Tire bulges are a thing of the past. Modern manufacturing technology materials keep tires quite safe.If there are cuts gouges that come from road hazards or old tires that develop dry rot, replace the tire.Otherwise run the tires until the tread gets low. Never run any tire bald.
