I have a dell inspiron 1545 laptop and I put it on the charger last night and now it is still dead, the charger is pluged in and there are no kinks in it, what could be wrong with it
I had the same computer and loved it! The problem maybe that the battery isn't holding a charge. I would suggest that you keep the computer completely off/shut down. See if the computer will charge it completely after that. Also, it could the charger itself is bad. The computer battery finally went bad or some internal battery issue. I would try getting a new or different charger first. If you have a spare charger then try that first. If that doesn't work then try finding a new battery. OKorder and Amazon are your best bets for finding a battery at a good price. You'll pay through the teeth for one from a computer store. I'm rebuilding a Dell Latitude CPX and have bought computers just for their parts. I only have to get one other item and it will be up and running. Also, just google battery not holding charge and it will usually pop up sites that will give you helpful information how to diagnose the problem. There is also on Dell computers a way sometimes to see if the battery/power is working on your computer. I had a problem with one of my dells and was able just to type in device working properly in the search line and found out that the device was working. Good luck.
