Question:

Wheelchair lift for car?

My husband uses a wheelchair and it is killing my back lifting in and out of the trunk every time we go somewhere so we are thinking about having a lift added to our car and I was wondering if anyone had any idea how much it costs? I found one for around $400 but I have no clue how much someone would charge to put it on. Do they weld a hitch onto your car and then weld it on to the hitch or how is it done? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:

I don't know about lifts but there are wheelchair racks available that fit a standard tow receiver. About $120 for the receiver and about $50 to install it. it's usually a simple bolt on installation. Call around for a quote where you live.
