When aluminum dissolves in water is the solution produced colorful or colorless?
The solution will always be colorless, because Aluminum has no d electrons that are capable of making transitions in the visible range(Unless, there is something else already in the solution that produces color)But dissolving aluminum metal or a simple aluminum salt will not produce a colored solution.
