I have the Ihome brand alarm clock. It has build in controls for the ipod. I put the ipod on the play list i want then put it in the dock. On the clock i skip to the song i want then hit pause. The ipod will go into sleep mode and when the alarm goes off it will start playing from the point i left off. Hope that helps.
