Question:

when putting in a lift kit, should i replace my ball joints as well?

2003 ford f150 ext. cab ,ext.bed, i am getting a 3 in body lift and i was just wondering if i should go ahead and replace the ball joints?

Answer:

do everything it says not to do it will shrink for sure
just wash it in very hot water and then dry it on very hot heat it sould shirnk alot then
Try washing it in hot water and then dry on a cotton cycle. Good luck.
Good idea. Then buy extras cuz you'll be replacing them on a regular basis from now on. Lifting changes the entire geometry of the vehicle and puts added stress on all suspension components. May as well own a ball joint press cuz you'll be using one so often.
A body lift will NOT change the suspension system, replacing the ball joints have more to do with how many miles you have on the truck and how hard you are on it, I would just get them checked by a mechanic. The only thing that will make your ball joints bad more often would be going to bigger tires like 35's or more. Good luck.
