Question:

Where can i buy rubber to sew with to make children's shoes?

I make crib shoes and would like to start making toddler shoes but i need to make a harder sole i don't want to use a thick sole just something walkable for walking babies like a thicker rubber. i don't know what it would be called or where i can purchase it. I have used vinyl but its not thick for walking babies and support. Thanks for your help!

Answer:

You will need to change them to a less sensitive alarm. I'm wondering if they can be adjusted. Talk to a hardware clerk.
Is it safe to hang curtains in a lighting storm!? Probably, unless you fall OFF the ladder. Here are a few things to note:- Air is an INSULATOR this doesn't mean that lighting can't pass through air it does, every time it strikes, but the VOLTAGE, the difference between the charge in the cloud and the charge of the Earth, must be enough to cause electricity to BRIDGE the insulator of air. But as long as you aren't the highest thing directly between the cloud and the Earth (think a golfer away from any trees in a lighting storm), you'll probably be o.k. - Water is a CONDUCTOR. Therefore, bathing, showering or washing during a lighting storm may actually be dangerous. If ANY exposed water carrying pipe is struck by lightning, and you are showering at the time, you might be struck by a piece of that lightning. Ben Franklin invented the lightning rod, now required code in nearly every house, but by showering you may actually provide a more direct root from the cloud to the Earth and as a result be electrocuted. - A land phone-line is likewise a conductor, so strangely, using a land phone line in a lightning storm may also be dangerous. People have actually been struck by lighting THROUGH THEIR PHONE! But - hanging curtains? Just make sure you don't fall off the stool / ladder!
Take down the smoke detectors, vacuum them out and clean them. Ours start doing this when they are full of lint inside the little grills. They become much more sensitive and go off with the slightest heat or steam driving the fur girls out of their minds. I clean mine once a year when I change the backup battery and am always surprised at how much crud I find in there (dog hair especially).
