Could be an allergy but best to ring the surgery and speak to the nurse.
Often times if your mouth is dry there becomes cracks in your soft pallet. On the other side - you have juice, which most of the time has citric acid (orange juice etc) which is an irritant to any kind of open sore. If it is an allergy then it is very localized. If at anytime your throat and/or tongue start to swell and you have respiratory distress seek medical attention. But I'm sure its just irritating the soft pallet which dries easily and cracks easily as well. Eat some oatmeal, drink plenty of fluids to prevent it from happening again. Cold whether has the same effect on your mouth as it does on skin - it will dry it out. Take it easy and have a happy holiday.
