I am planning to build a new home in Los Angeles on an empty lot and was told I need to install a fire hydrant. I am not sure where the water main is near or on the lot (although it is in a street with housing on each side). I contacted the city and they say they don't know where the water main is located (the lot has an easement, but the city couldn't find out what it is for, nor could the seller) and the fire department still hasn't gotten back to me. Is there a place where I can find out this information myself? Thanks!
