Question:

Where can I get axles for Jeep XJ?

I want to replace my axles on my 1999 Jeep XJ. I don‘t really know where to get them. I want Dana 44s in the rear and Dana 35s in the front. If there was any way possible, I‘d like them brand new. I‘m still getting into this stuff.

Answer:

many times in the experience that they've the plug interior the cover like you've defined it is a Chrysler axle. Dana axles many times have a threaded plug between the webs at the front area of the housing.
Exhaust length isn't really an issue in your case.a civic isn't that long of a car.if you want more exhaust out faster you should invest in high flow exhaust and high flow cats.(catalytic converter)
It will be loud if you do that. That wont really help, once its out of the engine it doesnt matter how long the exhaust is.
Sure you can buy them brand new, all you need is money. Just search Dana 44
A few suggestions: Join a local offroading club in ur area, as many times guys will have either access to or can help you in ur indever to obtain what ur after. Contact a local 4by4 store in your area they will more than likely either be selling them or can steer you in the direction to where u can find them Check out your local scrap yard (one that comes to mind is S.A.W. in Toronto/Ottawa, Ont) Registered to a JEEP forum (not knowing where u are located makes it hard to tell u which one to join) but if in the USA check out though Yahoo groups then look for Social XJ they are located I believe in southern Calif but have members all over the world. Allot of these stores/scrap yards have websites with toll free lines call them ask questions
