Question:

Where do i fix my check engine light?

where can i get this fixed? do they do this at autozone, pep boys or somewhere???

Answer:

Yes this is a much better deal. You will have an actually motorcycle you can take out of town if necessary etc. But i would check into the license and ins first these could be higher as well as the fact you should have a motorcycle license. In some states they can take you bike away and sell it if you do not have a motorcycle lic.
I looked at the Honda Rebel, I like the looks of the Virago alot more. The fact that the seat is 27 inches is a plus for me. I am a female, grew up on a honda xr 80 and haven't ridden in a lotta years. I am getting ready to buy a Virago. It would be a good bike for your wife, however you may want a bigger one. Then again, maybe this one would be better to get you back into riding. Have fun with whatever you decide on.
Auto-zone will scan it for you but unless the problem is fixed, the light will keep coming on.
The Check Engine Light is for the owner to be aware that the car has a problem. It is not always a severe problem but the next step is to get the computer scanned to pull out the trouble code. This can be done by any full service auto repair center. After they find out what code it is they will then tell you the repair needed to correct the problem. You give the OK to repair. They fix it and erase the code. You pay the bill and Bingo No more Check Engine Light showing on the dash. The cost varies because the cost to repair is an unknown untill the trouble code is pulled out of the computer. If the car is fairly new, it could be something very minor like an 02 sensor. This is the most common code that brings up the Check Engine Light for the first time. The cost to replace varies but dealers seem to want an arm and a leg for replacing them so I would not go there. Try places like Pep Boys, Firestone, Goodyear and such. I think they are more reasonable.
a check engine light just indicates your cars computer has detected a fault with a sensor or a system. Auto Zone can only read the fault code set. To fix the root cause you need a mechanic to diagnose problem.
