cable busted and cant find it in the engine compartment.
it probably doesn't. It may be hooked to the throttle body next to the throttle cable and cruise control cable. Chances are that it just slipped off, and you can fix it.
You should be able to find it on the transmission and follow it up to the firewall that way.
