I used to get face shields that are a sheet of stiff but flexible plastic (with a head band) that covered the whole face. They looked and worked like the ones dental technicians sometimes wear but are lighter and less sturdy and inexpensive. I can't find them at my usual hardwars stores or on-line now. Does anyone know where they're available?
I mean no disrespect to you (I'm a stepmom too), but these kids are messed up. Someone has done a horrible job parenting them. They are spoiled brats, bottom line. Noone has ever took the time to teach them how to grow up and take some responsibility. Who has custody of them? The mom or is she not in the picture? Someone (their dad) should put their foot down now and show them some tough love. They will only get worse if you don't give them rules to follow and punish them when they screw up. They will be doing drugs, stealing cars and getting girls pregnant in a few years if you don't do something now. For the bedwedding, sometimes it's a physical problem and sometimes it's pyschological. Take the child to the doctor and find out if his bladder is okay. He might need medication. I know they make something for bedwetting called DDAVP (I used to work in a pharmacy and it was common for young boys to take this). I have a 10 yr old step who is at our house on weekends. His mom has raised him differently than I would ever raise a child. Up until a year ago he could not take a shower and wash his hair alone. He had no idea how to pick up a land line phone and make a call. He had no idea what a dial tone was or how to use a phonebook. His mother babies him to no end.
