I have been trying to get toned as well.. I love the fire hydrants and the kicks because they are more comfortable to do. My rear end feels a little sore and tight after i do them. I do three sets of 10 of each twice a day. I'm not entirely sure if that's the correct number of reps, but it feels right. I also walk up big heels in my neighborhood, pushing my 2.5 year old in a stroller. That's a killer on my behind.
A 500 GPM, 100 psi pump will pull 55 horsepower and can be electric or Diesel. That flow will operate two standard 2 1/2 fire hoses. If you need the pump for a sprinkler system, that is another matter. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Underwriters Labs. (UL) have fire protection criteria and standards for certification of special purpose fire pumps. Also check with your insurance carrier. I suppose that you do have a source of water adequate to pump 500 GPM for an hour.
